This book is terrible. The character's reactions don't fit the circumstances, the Tolkien references (not to mention the similarities) are so abundant as so become annoying, and it ends like the ending of a chapter, not an entire story. Younger kids whose reading abilities aren't up to the better fantasies might enjoy it, but from an adult perspective it's completely amateurish.
