It is great to have Tom back after his absence in books 11 and 12. There are some good and some sad moments between Tom and the Spook. Grimalkin plays a large role as usual and even Mab Mouldheel brings her stinky feet around. It is also fascinating (and creepy) to see the growing relationship between Tom and the boggart. Joseph Delaney apparently wasn't ready to let this series end hence the forthcoming trilogy A New Darkness that is supposed to begin in September featuring more adventures of Tom Ward.
