Here's a great article if you're thinking of growing your own veggies to save money... It's from the Wall Street Journal http://finance.yahoo.com/news/How-Much-Green-Can-Growing-a-wallstreet-14945519.html |

We plant a garden every year and have been slowly expanding it the last few years. I'm not the primary gardener (seriously, I think I kill plants just by looking at them), but I help decide what to plant. The veggies are DH's domain and the herbs are mine. We don't have to contend with raised beds and such. We just compost and till each year. The savings are amazing and we end up with enough frozen veggies and dried herbs to carry us over into the next growing season. If I still canned food, the savings would be even more, I think. |
