My kids really like this series of books based on a TV series from a few years ago. It is a cleaner and much less grim version of the superhero stories that are in comic books today. Clever lines, good characters, predictable plot, but meant to be that way. I have seen my kids read these repeatedly when they want a superhero fix; I will not buy comic books for them. Those are no longer for children.
This series is consistent and does not become more grim or more sexualized over time: it continues to engage young readers.
