Sometimes when I start reading a "Miss Silver" mystery novel I wonder why, as the opening seems so mundane. But after a short while I'm so enthralled by the plot I have trouble putting the book down. And for those of you who like to see a couple of the book's characters planning wedding bells, Miss Wentworth almost always obliges.

I enjoyed this Miss Silver mystery.

From the back cover: Although Althea Graham's hypochondriac mother rarely visited the gazebo on their property, she is found dead there one morning. So Althea and her longtime fiance, dashing foreign corrospondent Nicholas Carey, are now not only free to marry, they are also the chief suspects. Fortunately, Miss Silver is a friend of Althea's. And it doesn't take long for her to discern that something is rotten in the gazebo, something that Scotland Yard hasn't figured on at all.
