I just keep finding them, I just keep posting them.

There is something cathartic about divesting oneself of one's treasures.  I like the fact that they will be someone else's treasures in a new home, great communal experience.

As far as special offers, what do people find to be the best deals to offer from a poster's perspective?  Any thoughts?

Are you willing to do, at the  very least, a 2 for 1 deal?

I found that 3 for 1 deals are the best. Alot of people will order 6 for 2 . Basically 2 deals. As far as shipping on these deals I would limit the amount of Hardcover books. But that's up to you. Or you could even run a deal like 4 softcovers for 1 credit / 2 Hardcovers for 1 credit. Hope this helps! Kathy

I'm certainly considering it.   I have two very full rubbermaid type containers of books I've posted and I know I'm not done yet.

I am interested in four of your books:

  • To Have and Have Not
  • The Reader
  • Brick Lane
  • Armistad

I hope you decide what deal to offer soon.

I will probably post an offer tomorrow.  I'll cut you a deal on those when I do.

When I post a deal I will usually do a 3 for1 PB and a 2 for 1 HB. That has always worked out pretty good for me.

I've been running a deal on my BM shelf, 3/1 on older books listed in my profile, and no deal on the rest...as I've just recently posted them and am trying to see how many will go before I offer a deal on them, so far a good 15 have been requested, lol.  As of right now I'm not offering any deals here, I tend to use more credits on BM than here.

Anyone get overwelmed with requests when they have a special offer?

Some members announce their special offer, include a deadline, and establish a mailing date to make it easier on themselves

At least this is what I've seen and this is what I'd probably do.

My advice is to run any special when you will be able to check the computer often to remove books quickly so people do not double order.  I write all orders on small index cards to ensure that I am sending the proper books to the proper people.  I have received incorrect books from other members (who probably were overwelmed with orders).   Don't run a special if you can't spend the time to keep track of everything.

Good Luck...  You have a nice bookshelf and will probably do well running a special.

Thanks Lynn for that sage advice!  I think this weekend will be out.   We are going to be up in Vermont for 2 days so checking the computer will be difficult.   Looks like next weekend will be a better bet!   Thanks all :).

Just posted a book that someone might be interested in:

Motherless Daughters: The Legacy of Loss by Hope Edelman, it is about girls who have grown up without a mother in their lives.  Have a great Memorial Day Weekend!
