One of the things I love about this author and this series are the characters. While I felt the mystery was fairly easy to figure out, the characters in this book make it well worth the read. This series doesn't rely on gimmicks for strong story-telling either, so if you like your mysteries without swearing or sex, then this is a series you will thoroughly enjoy.
