As a native Texan and country girl, my reading this book started out by luck and chance, but everything happens for a reason right? :)

I loved it! I could just picture all the fuss that was made when this book was published, but oh...it does fit Texas. We are glorious when it comes to dealing with heat and cattle and oil and in truth? I'm in love with all of them even more, just by reading this book.

If you really want to read a gritty but spectacular novel about Texas and all the things that make it vivacious, I'd highly recommend "Giant."

What can be said that probably hasn't been already about this classic book of Texas, oil, cattle, love, jealousy and greed.

I would recommend it to anyone as a 'must read' in order to add to your knowledge of great classics.
