Rei Shimura is back, and back in Japan! This time she ends up working undercover at a high end Japanese department store looking for proof of corruption. As with past books, Sujata Massey focuses on an aspect of Japanese Culture and we get an education along with our reading pleasure.

I really enjoyed this book more than the last couple in the series, and recommend it for fans of mysteries and Japanese culture. If you haven't read any of the books, I'd start with the first novel, The Salaryman's Wife, and read them in order.

Always interested in what Rei is doing. Seems like she is growig up. Not as whiney as usual.
