Originally published in 1981 with title: Toblethorpe Manor. They called her Miss Fell for the spot where Richard Carstairs and his friend had found her on the snowy moor - Daws Fell. He had carried her home in his arms to be cared for by his mother, Lady Annabel, and from the moment she opened her sea-green eyes in bewilderment and pain, she had captured his heart. But who was she? Christened Clara by Richard's younger sister, the girl was recovering her health but not her memory.
This historical is romance from early in Carola Dunn's writing career. Carola Dunn wrote a number of historicals before her very popular series of Daisy Dalrymple mysteries set in the 1920s.
