oh - I expected and hoped to love this book. The title grabbed me, the description really grabbed me and I read a good review. But it fell short of my expectations. Still a good story but I wanted more depth. Short book at only 170 pages so I read it in a day. Juliette rides the Paris metro to work every day and observes what people around her are reading. One day she gets off the metro and follows a young girl to a used bookstore where she meets the girls father and becomes a passeur - a passer on of used books - matching books to people. I expected more of the matching books to people part of the story and thought it would be uplifting. While there is a good hopeful ending, much of the story is sad and lonely and tragic with not a lot of book matching. So I liked the book, but it just wasn't what I expected. And not a lot of depth, maybe because it was a short book.
