  **This was an assignment in a creative writing class. We had to imitate another piece where it was a mother giving advice to her daughter. This is what I came up with**

To the girl with the A-cup – big boobs are beautiful;
to the girl with the DD-cup – don’t be saggy, but wear halter tops but don’t let your bra straps show, that’s slutty.

To the skinny girl – you look anorexic, men like women with curves;
to the curvy girl – you’re too fat, you need to lose weight.

To the blonde girl – blondes are dumb;
to the brunette girl – blondes have more fun.

To the single girl – why can’t you get a man?;
to the girl with a boyfriend – do you need a man to complete you?

To the smart girl – guys don’t want a girl to be smarter than them;
to the less-smart girl – guys want a girl with a brain in her head.

To the independent girl – men want a woman who needs them;
to the less-independent girl – men don’t want a clingy woman.

To the forward girl – guys want to be the pursuer;
to the shy girl – you have to let guys know you’re interested.

To the promiscuous girl – no man wants to marry a whore, you’re used goods;
to the prudish girl – boys are only after one thing and if you won’t give it to them they won’t like you.

To the girl who wants to work – your places is at home with your children;
to the girl who wants to be a stay-at-home mom – why do you want to rely on a man to support you?

To the short girl – guys want a model for a girlfriend and models are tall and beautiful;
to the tall girl – guys want to be taller than their girlfriends.

To the girly-girl – don’t be such so prissy, guys don’t want a girl who’s so high maintenance;
to the tom-boy girl – be more girly, otherwise guys will just see you as one of the guys.

To the ethnic girl – blond hair and blue eyes are beautiful;
to the blond with blue eyes – ethnic beauty is real, unique beauty.

To the glamorous girl – he’ll have a fling with you but he won’t marry you;
to the girl next door – he won’t want to date his buddy.

To the older girl – he’ll want someone younger so don’t show your age;
to the younger girl – guys peak sexually before women and he’ll want someone on his level, act more mature.

To the girl who stands out – be more like the girls in the magazine;
to the girl who fits in – be more unique.

that is all so sadly true. :(

You came up with some great ideas. It is hard to decide if you met the requirements of the class without reading that piece. This is more poetry than literature. At any rate, I really liked your ideas - it is SO TRUE, and you seem very wise.

This was interesting; to be fair, you could do one where the father gives similar conflicting advice to the son.

This is good, its very true. Only I'd say make it more of a story, with more spice & flow. But its still very good, and very true, which makes it even better!

Love it! The grass is always greener...

Ah....The oxymorons of 'motherly' advice...or advice from anyone really! This just reminds me to love myself exactly how I am, and take advice like this with a grain of salt and one ear closed!

Grain of salt and one ear closed. Good advice. I think all girls should read it; it would put things in perspective for them.
