A fun light read- well developed characters and setting, plus a well constructed mystery. I'd love a sequal!

Good little cozy. Mystery is well written and not easy to figure out. Characters are well developed and interesting. This series has a lot of potential

Pretty good little cozy! Nice foodie theme, gluten free facts throughout the book and recipes at the end. The cast of characters was the usual, the shop owner, Toni, her BBF, her big ole family, and the large Victorian house she inherited and shares with her brother. I like the inclusion of children with autism, and the gentle flow of the story line. Not easy to solve, but a good number of twists and turns. There are two romantic interests, and both are full of all the good stuff, handsome, cowboy one-handsome lawyer the other. I would read the next in the series if released, nice- if not unremarkable, entertainment.

What a fun story!! I've read Nancy Parra's Candy Coated series (Written as Nancy Coco) and adored it so I was excited to read her Baker's Treat series. Toni is a great character! She comes from a large family, she had a bad marriage, she has celiac disease which forces her to follow a very strict diet, but in her creativity, she's not only made delicious foods for herself to enjoy but opened a gluten free bakery for others with similar diet restrictions also. She's a small business woman, fiercely independent, but equally loyal to her loved ones. She has great friends and family! I loved chain smoking Grandma Ruth, Toni's best friend Tasha, Toni's new assistant Meghan, Dream Cowboy Sam, and hot attorney Brad!! I loved the little community too ~ all the Main St shop owners, the Newspaper folks, and the Chamber people. They were interesting personalities and offered plenty of suspects. Toni had several things happen to her to keep the story going and the "killer catching" moment at the end was different from any cozy I've read! This series had some yummy sounding recipes and I just love when a character is in the kitchen making food!! There weren't any pets in this story, but it didn't detract in any way. Overall, this was a great start to a fun series and I'm really looking forward to reading the next one!!

The first third of the book was a little slow, but the second two thirds were really good. Lots of possible suspects and motives. I really did not know whodunnit until the end, though I did figure one part out. I look forward to reading the second title in the series.
