Classic Leon Uris this book isn't. I've read most of his novels and was always struck by the detailed history in each.

A God in Ruins is a good book, but disappointing as a Leon Uris novel. A review in the front states "Good Uris beats the best of John Grisham or Tom Clancy any time." That should have been my warning to expect a good, not great, book.

The story of Quinn Patrick O'Connell, the man well on his way to being elected as the second Irish, Roman Catholic American president. Hours before he is scheduled to be sworn in he finds that he is Jewish. Story of several generations of O'Connells and their lives.
