A luxury cruise...A missing atomic scientist...A hidden nuclear device...A very rich and beautiful woman...A band of desperate hijackers...a ship of gold.

Put them all together with First Officer John Carter--tough, shrewd, resourceful--and you have a fantastic blend of suspense, adventure and international intrigue. While Officer Carter is leaping out of portholes, deactivating bombs, and clobbering the opposition, the reader holds his breath hoping Carter will make it.

great suspense from before our modern books. Published in 1962 so not a lot of swearing and sex for shock treatment.
