Timothy Todd is a master peddler. He can sell anything to anyone, from hoes and hatchets, to calico and tea. But nowhe's bought a coconut from a sailor, and no one will buy it. So he invents the story of the "gollywhopper egg." A gollywhopper is a bird that can do almost anything on a farm, and even make you laugh when you're feeling blue. All Farmer Foote needs to do is hatch the egg-and he's sure he can, but Timothy Todd knows better.

Funny story about a farmer who is tricked into buying an egg that is really a coconut. He has many adventures trying to get it to hatch.
