I love the way she describes things. Her writing is very unique!
I could really relate to this book. When I was a teenager I went through a brainwashing program as well. The difference in our experiences is that she was in total isolation in the mountains and I had freedom sit in front of me and tease me mercilessly.
If one of my children ever get into trouble and a judge wants to send my kids to a brainwashing program I'm grabbing my kids and running as fast as I can!
Unlike Alison I never let the programs ideas get to my head. I just played the game so I could get out. When I finally got out a year later my body didn't know how to act without the stress of the program so it started to shut down and I spent 11 days in ICU fighting for my life.
These places are not good for kids and I think every parent should read this book and others like it so they can see the hidden scars these institutions leave.
