A friend wants me to to some basic magic tricks at a party for her. Does anyone know of some good magic books? All I can find are children's books and more advanced books.

Wow.  That's a hard one.  Have you looked for magic tricks in a store or on line?  I know I've seen some simple tricks you can buy....a magic wand that's solid and straight in the magician's hands, but which flops down when handed to a volunteer, or the "empty" sack that later reveals an object (courtesy of a false bottom).  A friend of mine did a coin trick for me that I expect was at least one coin with different colors on each side.  Etc.  Seems to me that a lot of the true sleight of hand tricks take a lot of practice.

Good luck.
