I enjoyed this book as it gave me insight on Gordie Howe's life from childhood on up. He overcame so much with his family growing up extremely poor was sadly, almost the norm in those days. I never knew he was very shy as a young boy. I was nice to see how the team stuck together back in those days and the guys helped each other out so much. I'm sure after reading this book you'll want to find out much more about Gordie Howe, however it does reveal much so don't pass it up, great read about a great player, great father and husband and a great man.

From back of book;
Gordie: A Hockey Legend is the only full-length biography to cover Gordie Howe's entire playing career. It's all here: the dramatic Stanley Cup victories, the bloody fights and terrible injuries, Howe's stirring comebacks and the incredible longevity of his career. Recreating four decades of hockey glory, author Roy MacSkimming takes us behind the sports icon to reveal the man who is considered by many the greatest all-round hockey player in history.
