This book gives the impression it was just dashed off and rushed to press to make a buck. The ex-husband of a child molester has adopted the pose of an 'expert' on the dangers faced by teens. While he may know more than the average person on the subject, and while he has a deep understanding of what happened in his wife's case, it become obvious through the attitudes he displays exactly why he wrote the book. Additionally it is extremely poorly edited. I found over a dozen simple typos or repeated words and a low level of literacy throughout. Mr. LaFave has plenty to complain about with his wife throwing their life together away and causing such a publicity blitz that it disturbed his job in addition to supposedly breaking his heart. He has plenty of reason to hold a grudge for her immaturity and terrible judgment. And he has a story to tell which is generally interesting. However the way he inserts snarky complaints about her behavior quite separate from her criminal activity is suspect. When he devotes pages to complaining about her eating disorder, then remarks that her 'hips stay quite large regardless of her weight' we get a clue how their marriage ran. A worthwhile read only if you are truly curious about the case - and it does contain details of exactly what took place and how the woman formed such a relationship.
