First of all, Diane Carey is one of the best of the Star Trek writers, so I knew the book was going to be good, and it lived up to its expectations. This is a race for fun and honor, and where more than one star ship will race against The Enterprise, but of course, there is a nemesis who also wants to stop the Enterprise... I loved it. From the first page to the last, it was well written.

This was a "Star Trek" book, what more can be said. It was an interesting story with a typical "Star Trek" neat ending. It was a good light read. I enjoyed it.

you know the characters

this one was amusing, with a very interesting premise.
the 2-3 intro chapters, which set the back story, are a bit confusing and are not well-integrated however eventually all is mostly explained

kirk is heroic of course, so is the doc ... and we meet a new and rather interesting people
