Having watched the Seth Rogen movie, I was shocked to discover that the big screen version of The Green Hornet and Kato was nothing like the original. Several incarnations with Bruce Lee, Van Williams, Al Hodge and Warren Hull brought the character to life. All successfully. Things I learned from the book: The Green Hornet was never a super hero because he never had super powers. He was a masked vigilante and that's a big difference. Also, The Green Hornet began on radio in 1936. That means the character is about 75 years old. Wow! The Green Hornet was related to The Lone Ranger, and rivaled such radio characters as Captain Midnight, Sky King, Hop Harrigan and Ned Jordan. The book weighs about two pounds and is very thick. About 800 pages. So if you want to know everything about The Green Hornet, this is the book you want to own. By the way, the author also wrote an award winning book on The Twilight Zone. I already pre-ordered his book on The Shadow.
