I'm reading a fabulous, hilarious book right now- Undead and Unwed- and I've been thinking. It's basically labeled a "paranormal comedy/romance", which while true, it also fits into all the chick lit labels to me. The heroine is a sassy, fashion savvy single girl who is hilarious and has an even sassier African-American and hot gay best friend. She laughs at all the goofy vampire conventions and has quick and funny quips for any occasion. Even someone named Catherine Spangler on the back cover agrees with me in her quote- "Chick lit meets vampire fiction in this creative, sophisticated, sexy and wonderfully witty book." |

i've always considered the undead novels to be paranormal chicklit. just a subdivision of regular chick lit. like there is chick lit mysteries and wedding chick lit. but still falling in the chick lit genre. |

I'd consider it chick lit too - but I think our Borders puts it under the romance section if you go to look for the books. I think that's sort of strange - more under fiction, IMHO, since it's not you typical romance that sits in that section. It's a great series! I have all the books, which I will never part with despite their wishlisted status, except the newest. I'm just waiting for that one to go into paperback before I get it. |

Yes, the Undead series is great! I cannot part with either... in fact, I just came across a hardcover of Undead and Unappreciated that was signed by MaryJanice Davidson for $3 at a christian bookstore. I would sit down to read and just could not stop, I carried the books with me everywhere! I'm having a hard time waiting for the wish list to get down there so I can continue with the series! |
