Helpful Score: 1
While the characters and plot line were true to the first book, this one was tedious and dry. The authors did not convince me to care about the protangonists, or their fate. The resolution was a little too pat.

Sequel to Mote in God's Eye

This book was pretty good. It started off sort of slow and then really picked up in the middle and didn't stop. This story concentrated more on Bury and Renner, with a few minor charactors thrown in and some old charactors making cameo appearances through out the book. This book showed that some of the Moties had a darker side but most just wanted a solution to their endless wars. I do think I liked the first one better though.

this is a sequel to "the mote in god's eye."

quite frankly, the authors know better and should have left well enough alone.

the original was a delightful ground-breaking adventure about mankind's first contact with aliens. this one was barely interesting.

There, twenty-five years have passed since humanity quarantined the mysterious aliens known as Moties within the confines of their own solar system. They have spent a quarter century analyzing and agonizing over the deadly threat posed by the only aliens mankind has ever encountered--a race divided into distinct biological forms, each serving a different fuction. Master. Mediator. Engineer. Warrior. Each supremely adapted to its task, yet doomed by millions of years of evolution to an inescapable fate. For the Moties must breed -- or die.

And now the fragile wall separating them and the galaxy beyond is beginning to crumble...
