The crew of the Enterprise run into a society where fiction, even the very thought of it, is subject to capital punishment.

Fascinating Star Trek next generation novel about a society in which the imagination and works of fiction are viewed as a crime, and the Enterprise crew are regarded as criminals who must be "blanked" out. This is my favorite Star Trek Next Generation novel - and I've read about two dozen.
