The lead character works in the coroners office and carries a gun and badge. He is also a new father, with a baby that doesn't sleep very much, which adds to his woes as an investigator. Interesting story and unexpected ending.

I really liked this book.
They called her Beauty & the Beast because half her face was beautiful & half disfigured. But when Amy fled her old life to start anew in Key West, a terrible car crash changed everything. Mistaken for Shelly Ralston, a victim killed in the accident, Amy was rushed to surgery to reconstruct her shattered face.
Matt, investigative reporter, wants nothing to do with Shelly. Her attration to him has become an obsession. Called to the hosp., he mistakenly identifies the injured womasn as Shelly. Desparate to save herself, Amy changes places with Shelly.
As beautiful "Shelly", Amy thinks her dreams have come true....even tho an enemy from her past is moving closer. Her involvement with Matt is developing into a relationship of mistrust mixed with passion. Now she plans on gambling everthing to experience a man's love.
