This book should be called 1/2 price living for SAHMs. The first half was about whether or not you can quit your job to become a SAHM. The middle had good tips but only IF YOU ARE A MOM. The last half was a little 'bible thumpy.'

If you DO NOT have kids, do not even bother picking this book up. While the tips were good, most of them dealt with children. Good places to find cheap kids clothes, vacations with kids, etc.

This book is clearly for mothers who want to transition from work-away-from-home mom to stay-at-home mom. Most beneficial to those who have not made the transition or who are teetering on the edge with doubts. Ellie Kay provides you the math to determine what your real income is after all expenses and help you answer some serious questions. Are you working JUST to pay for childcare? Is your "income" equal to that of meal out each month? There are some good tips on being frugal and reducing your spending. The last chapter is definitely full of Christian anecdotes, suggested Bible readings, etc. Do not read this if you are offended by such things and the book will still be beneficial to your family.
