In the first rattle out of the box, the little girl in the story defies her parents with passive-aggressive behavior by hiding her hamster in her closet. How is that teaching kids? Instead of showing the child having a reasoned discussion with her parents about a rule she thinks is harsh, she defies them. The girl seems to agree with her parents but does what she wants. This is not a great lesson.

The "story" ends abruptly without closure. So, what was the point? As a therapist who worked with children, I'm appalled by this story.
