This is a lovely book, glossy pages, clear photos. The text is easy to follow and even encouraging in a folksy way. Patience is required to hand feed, but living in New England is likely the best indicator of success. As a Southern Californian my chances of utilizing the bulk of information is scant. The optimal times to hand-feed are 24 hours after a severe ice storm, with 10 to 15 degrees Fahrenheit. So you East Coasters, you will love this book as is predominately aimed at you. I will give the novelty of hand feeding as coached by Mr.Wiberg an attempt with local mocking birds, since we in So.Cal are clean out of Chickadees, Nuthatches and seriously cold weather.
