Happy May!  (Getting us started a day early since I happen to be here at the moment.)

Nothing has changed since my last post in the April What Are You Reading thread, so I've just cut and pasted my response there.  LOL!

I'm still reading Mary, Queen of Scotland and the Isles by Margaret George (it's quite a hefty volume!), and I'm listening to My Dear Hamilton by Stephanie Dray.  I also started reading The Greenest Branch - A Novel of German's First Female Physician (Hildegard of Bingen) by P.K. Adams on my Kindle, which I started simply because I went on a short trip earlier this month and didn't want to lug the big Mary book.  I haven't gotten too far into it yet as I want to finish Mary first.

I'm just starting By Gaslight by Steven Price.  Hoping it's "meaty" and intense.

I'm going to start Blood is Blood, the latest Barker and Llewelyn mystery by Will Thomas.  I hope it's a good one!

Just finished The Lost Girls of Paris by Pam Jenoff, obtained from the library.  There are 177 wishers for the book at this point.  I liked the read and found it hard to put down.  However, when I read the author's comments I was disappointed that she did not share more information about the SOE and the women who disappeared during WWII.  She did suggest further reading but I wanted more to decide if I wanted to delve deeper into the topic.

I finished listening to My Dear Hamilton, which I enjoyed.  Onto The Mermaid and Mrs. Hancock on Audible.  Still working my way through Mary, Queen of Scotland and the Isles, which is quite the tome!  Getting very close to the end.  I'm going to pick a much shorter book to read next time.  LOL!

I loved The Mermaid and Mrs Hancock Shelley!  I've started The Convenient Marriage by Georgette Heyer.  I can already tell that this book is going to be another of those "I Love Lucy" type wacky stories.  I love it so far.

I'm reading Revenger by Rory Clement. It's the second book in his John Shakespeare series, and I'm not too thrilled with it. I read the first book in the series and thought it was ok. Has anyone read this series? Should I continue it?

Just finished The Tudor Bride by Joanna Hickson, which was the 2nd in the short series of Catherine de Valois.  The Agincourt Bride was first.

Just started First of the Tudors by same author, which is a stand alone but does continue the story of her childern.

Thanks, Cheryl.  I do have the 3rd book sitting on my shelf.  Not sure if I'll get to it.  I find myself skimming through the second book.

I've started the latest Sebastian St. Cyr novel, Who Slays the Wicked by C.S. Harris.  It's very good so far.  I do love Sebastian and Hero!

Okay, Mary, Queen of Scotland and the Isles is now on my "Books I've Read" pile.  A very long book (what Margaret George book isn't?), but I enjoyed it.  Mary, Queen of Scots is such an enigma.  This telling of her story was fairly sympathetic to her.  If her troubles were mostly owing to her being a victim of circumstance, then she is indeed a tragic figure.  Now I am focusing on The Greenest Branch, which I am enjoying.

Cheryl, I haven't gotten too far into The Mermaid and Mrs. Hancock, but so far I am enjoying it. It's one of those wehre I think I'll be glad I am "reading" the audio version.  I love the British accents!
