Just when I thought I couldn't enjoy a book more that A Tailor-Made Bride, Head in the Clouds comes along and I devour all 350+ pages in a day. If you are a fan of romance, ranchers, and British nobility you will love this story. Not only that but if you like to be able to relate to a heroine I don't think you will be able to find another quite like Adelaide Proctor (at least I can't think of one!)

Adelaide is on the lookout for her storybook hero (aren't we all *wink*) and literally falls into the arms of a man who just might be her Mr. Rochester minus the crazy wife and "broodiness." Gideon Westcott aka Lord Mansfield (well almost, he's third in line for that title) formally of England is now a sheep rancher in Texas and is in charge of a young ward, Isabella Petchey. Of course there's also the danger of the Texas plains and hills, throw in a money hungry uncle and you have some heart-stopping moments.

With the skill of a seasoned pro, Karen Witemeyer has spun a tale that is sure to please the most romantic souls and those with a predilection for danger. ;-) If you're like me this book will stay on your keeper shelf to be read again. I can't wait till next year for her next release, To Win Her Heart!

Such a great book!! Karen Witemeyer is so awesome! She is fast becoming one of my favorite authors!
Head in the Clouds is such a wonderfully sweet story of three people who need each other so desperately but are unaware of it. They are drawn to each other from the moment they meet. I loved reading about how Adelaide drew young Isabella out of her speechless shell. I also enjoyed the close knit family situation at Westcott Cottage between the family and the servants.
This is a sweet book but there is plenty of action when Isabella's evil uncle shows up.
Can't say enough about it! Great, great book!

A very cute story with some links to "Jane Eyre." It had romance, humor, and action. A nice read for all of us who are dreamers!

I really liked this book. The heroine was beautiful and brave, the hero was honorable and kind, and the bad guy was treacherous and cruel. Add a sweet little girl and a bevy of good friends and servants, and this makes a good story to read and enjoy. This is the second book I have read by Karen Witemeyer, and I look forward to reading more of her work.

My first book by this author was a winner all around. The son of an English Baron, Gideon is a sheep rancher in Texas with a young daughter needing a governess. After a devastating misunderstanding, Adelaide applies for the position. Addie makes progress with young Isabella while trying to protect her heart. When a relative of Isabella tries to take her back to England, Gideon and Addie join forces to protect her.

This was my first book by Karen Witemeyer and it didn't disappoint. This story has it all-love, humor, sorrow, and action. It is for all who love a good romance and a bit of history thrown in.
