  Blood red on stark ivory
As the last burdens of my heart
Elope onto smooth keys
And are molded into song.
It rushes out my fingers,
The dam is broken
The melody is gone
A stranger's horror now.
Emptiness,
And all creatures shy away
From this place with no water.
The final breeze rolls through,
The levee turns to sand and drifts away
As the dust thickens,
And the dry earth cracks,
I crumble.
