This was a lovely read for me, always a fan of historical fiction I was happy with the authenticity of this book. I am a student of 19th century life and found it wonderfully detailed and written in terms of speech and reference.

Though as a romance novel it was heavy on romance and light on bedroom activities. If you enjoy tensions with dark pasts this is a choice read for you. The main characters are continually lovable, the evils are well defined.
