I was intrigued by the name "Anthony Boucher," a mystery writer and mystery novel critic extraordinaire. But I didn't really get anything out of this book. It's an (admittedly) exhaustive look at organizations of mystery fans, from The Edgar Allan Poe Society (1923) to the Ngaio Marsh Society in the early 2000's. It mentions a lot of books, but mostly dwells on the societies and the conventions (mainly Boucheron -- a World Mystery Convention named for the critic himself.) Lots of b&w photos of fans and organizers. So if that's what your interested in, dive in.
