I mailed several boxes of books all on the same day Sept 10th most of them have been delivered already but one was going from TN to VA has not arrived and i checked the USPS site and they say they were notified to expect the package but no other info is avaliable. So according to them they never got a package. I'm having lots of trouble with this office not scanning DC lables. Is there any way to find this box? What happens if I don't find it since it was a BOB swap i can't refund credits.

please help

If you already have the postage on the book and either drop it in the blue box or hand it to the nice postale clerk, TECHNICALLY it doesn't have to be scaned till it gets to where it is going-or if it goes through one of the  big postal hubs....it is DELIVERY confirmation.....and I'm not yelling!!

well then how does anyone ever know you really sent a book? and i didn't have postage on it she printed my postage because it was box of books swap. I have had books that never got scanned at all and i send every package with DC. Most of the time i get credit when someone marks my book recieved.

My point is I have books that made it to CA in this amount of time mailed the same day and a box of books going 3 hours away still hasn't got there. All the other books i sent out that day were in the systam and trackable this one says:

The U.S. Postal Service was electronically notified by the shipper on September 9, 2007 to expect your package for mailing. This does not indicate receipt by the USPS or the actual mailing date. Delivery status information will be provided if / when available. Information, if available, is updated every evening. Please check again later

So is the post office responsible if these books were lost since they say they never got them?

The Post Office is never responsible for anything. They can rip the package of books open, drop it in a puddle, and run it over with their truck. You might get a sorry.

It is odd that the other books scanned and this one did not. They should have all scanned at the same point or not until delivery. The POs records do not have you giving them the book. Media Mail can travel in weird patterns, give it some time an hopefully it will show up at its destination intact.

I'm going out of town for a while and was hoping to tie up all loose ends but luckly the person i'm swapping with is being wonderful about the whole mess. I'm gonna  talk to my local PO on monday and see if they can do anything. and like you said all i can do is hope.

thanks

I read in another thread that someone mailed a book in Jan and it showed up in July....hopefully that doesn't happen here but sometimes things take the long way to their destination
