I sent a like-new hardback to a user and I didn't get a credit for it.  PBS cancelled my request and the user got someone else's book as well as mine.  He gave a credit to the other person.

What do I do????

Did you mail the book and forget to mark it sent?

If so, the following from the help center might cover your situation.

If a book is not marked mailed by the deadline, it will cancel automatically, and the request will be passed along to another member offering a copy of the same book.

  • If you act fast, you may be able to "catch" the requestor before the second sender prints the address to send the second copy of the book.
  • If the requestor can still cancel the new request, then he or she will not end up with 2 copies, and will probably be happy to mark your book received from her Transaction Archive when your copy arrives.
  • If she marks your book received from the canceled transaction, you will get credit for having sent the book.

  • If the requestor gets two copies of the book, she is not obligated to mark your canceled one received (she IS obligated to mark the properly sent book received from her active transactions), so you should contact her as soon as possible following the instructions below.

Yeah you may be out your credit for good if you forgot to mark it mailed in time.  It is totally up to the receiver to decide whether or not they want to mark your book received.

If that's what happened, always make sure you remember to mark your books mailed on time in the future!  I had this happen to me once before and lost my credit too and I have never made that mistake again!

I communicated with the other party and they said they never received the book, and instead received a book from someone else, and would not give me a credit.

Luckily, a kind soul on here gave me a free credit.  I am eternally grateful!
