First off Im very sorry to hear of your loss.

If you can send a pm to the requestors (write one pm and copy paste to all) and then try to do the best you can. Im sure most everybody will realize that life does get in the way and they are just books.

My condolences on your loss.

I would contact each person you are supposed to mail to and explain your situation. Ask them if it is ok for you to mark the book mailed (so the transaction does not time out), and tell them exactly when you plan on mailing the books.  This way they will know the book is still in route to them. If they do not wish to wait, then you can cancel the transaction.

From the help center ~

It is not okay to mark your book mailed and delay mailing it for longer than 48 hours

  • We understand that sometimes circumstances interfere with prompt mailing!  But this should not be a habit.
  • If your mailing is delayed, you must inform the requestor as soon as possible, so that she doesn't think the book is lost in the mail if it was merely mailed late.
  • To contact the requestor from a book transaction: click or on the transaction, to send a Personal Message.

And then it might be a good idea to put your account on vacation. With all the hallabloo during a funeral, the last thing you need to do is think about PBS......if you PM each person that you are sending book to and explain what is going on...and tell them when you'll be mailing.  Perhaps a friend could mail them for you?  We are a pretty accomodating bunch!!
