I have nine Henry James volumes on my book shelf. Most are the only copy in the system. (Princess Cassamasima Tragic Muse, Watch and Ward, hardbacks of In the Cage and Golden Bowl etc.)
If you are a Henry James nut, you can have all 9 for six credits. |

That's wonderful. But this post belongs in the Book Bazaar, in your signature, or in the red promo thread in this forum. |

Of Henry James: I know of no writer who places such demands on his reader---or who rewards him so scantly. My quote . All my own. And if you have read more than half of those, Elaine, you have my heartfelt sympathy. |

Sorry about the misplaced listing. I'm new here.
Actually, my husband is the James buff. He likes the leisurely pace of the novels (I call it boring). I find that I get lost in the compound/complex sentences and am constantly rereading pages to try to get what he is trying to say. I had to read Portrait in college and I wanted to shake the heroine and tell her to grow a backbone. Now, James' short stories are, in my opinion, much better reads. Maybe because they're short... |
