Addy is an excellent student and her school is having a kite festival. She gets frustrated when her little sister seems to get into her things and ruin them. Her Momma talks to her about Esther and family. Addy and Sam were discussing the items they used in kite making when Addy stated "can't none of them fly, but all together they make something that can. It's like they all need each other to do it." Sam likes to tell riddles and he replies "One by one they fail, but together they sail." Addy's family is like that they all need each other to get ahead and improve their lives. Addy deals with a couple things going on in her life and they turn out in the end but hard work and her little sister help out. The craft at the end of the book is kite making, of course! Enjoyed the story, and recommend the book.
