It's almost quaint to read these articles, previously published in the New Yorker, now since many of the companies and people he profiles are long gone or no longer industry players. But it does give great context to where we are now in the tech world and is a fascinating look back at where we were at the genesis of the Internet and information superhighway. It's even more fascinating to know how far we've come in less than a decade.

A series of 16 articles that the author wrote for the New Yorker between 1992 and 1996. I would suggest the information is of mostly historical interest now.
