This is the first book in the Hilo series; right now there are four books in this series. My son got this as a gift and enjoyed it a lot, he then gave it to me to read. This was a very fun read that I really enjoyed.

The illustration is bright, colorful, cartoony and really adds a ton of fun to the story. It's easy to follow and entertaining.

The story is fast-paced and fun as well. It has a science fiction feel to it but takes place on modern day Earth. This is a perfect story for the middle grade crowd; I think young adults and adults will enjoy it as well. It deals with themes of friends and family, fitting in, and aliens too!

Overall a very fun read; my son and I both plan on continuing the series. This is a well done graphic novel that is engaging and entertaining and I would recommend to all ages that like light-hearted, action packed sci-fi graphic novels.
