Sara MacDonald writes with a gentleness that glides the reader into lives you want to know more about. Each person has a story of their own to be told that makes up the whole of the novel. "The Hour Before Dawn" is never slow but a page turning story of love, forgiveness & murder. Calmly & beautifully told in MacDonald's way of telling a story. Then just when you least expect it... WHAM! You are floored with something so out of the ordinary it has you flipping pages so fast they might go up in smoke. As with her novel "Sea Music" "The Hour Before Dawn" is well worth the time spent. I enjoyed this read.
