On reading the "cozy series" thread, Lynne J defined "A Cozy Mystery, one chocked-full of kind-hearted characters, with a terrific story masterfully told, and a satisfying – and generally happy -- ending. No explicit sex or violence, no wall-to-wall profanity.  "

Ok, how about some books/authors/series who are "cozy" but not necessarily mysteries?  Rosamunde Pilcher comes to mind right off, but ...are there some others?  Historical fiction or otherwise?

Cheers,

Catt

I don't read cozy mysteries but what you described reminds me of Where the Heart is by Billie Letts and The Mitford Series.

How about The Enchanted April? Can't remember the author off the top of my head. Jane Austen also seems very cozy to me, too. And A Room With a View by E. M. Forster.

One that might qualify is the books by Jennifer Chiaverini.  Cross country quilters was very good.  It's light hearted with some serious themes.

I started a Cozy Fiction tab for books like this.  Jan Karon's Mitford books are probably the most well-known in this group but it also includes Adriana Trigiani, Ann B. Ross and Lauren Willig.  Cozy Library  http://www.cozylibrary.com/default.asp?id=9  has a good list.

I posted this a few weeks ago under the topic "Gentle Reads" but as it is applicable here too I will post this again:

I am always looking for new authors and today came across this wonderful website: Link

It provides suggestions of books & authors, with brief synopsis of the book in a wide variety of different categories: Americana, British, Gentle with Faith, Animals, etc.

Check it out! If you are looking for new authors to explore, there are lots of resources here!

Happy reading!
