can we write in one of the sticky notes we put on books?  I was just interested because I tried putting a short description of a book and author I haven't read before so I could see it when I'm looking through my RL.

I'm not sure. What I use mine for is on books not yet released--I put a note with the release date so I don't have to click on the book details for every one of them, can just hover over it. I've never tried typing in anything more than "Release 7/7/09" or whatever.

Just try it and see! :)

I tried just putting a bunch of x's in a note, then cut-n-paste that intio a word document, then used the word count tool to see that it holds at least 500 characters.

Thanks for the replies!  I have started using the notes for a lot of things, including brief descriptions, release dates, wondering if I'd read the book, how many books are in the system,  how many are on the WL, and where in a series the book falls if it doesn't say in the title.  I really appreciate the answer Dan and Cheryl. ;D

Oh, one more thing Ruth;  When you get to the end of the 500 character capacity the system just starts backspacing/erasing the last character you typed.  So you will know when you reach the 500 character limit.

We also like using notes.  Marilyn use them to mark some specifics of historical romances.  I use then to mark #1 #2 #3... of a series
