I have been gifted 15 boxes of books and I am currently going through them, but is there a way to know that a book is a different ISBN than someone is wishing for? I ask, because I noticed that two of the books I posted from these boxes have the same title but different ISBN. I am looking to put these on the discussion page for others to see if this is the case. Theresa |

I usually do a search for the title/author in the advanced search and look at each of the other versions to see if there are any WL or if I have a version with lots of copies. If you do post books that are not WL but match WL titles then members on the WL get a message that a similar title has been posted (if they have that feature set to 'on' in their settings). When posting batches of books I keep two windows open: I use the main search bar at the top of every page to see if the ISBN I have is WL or has copies. If it comes up as 0 copies/0 wishers (which does happen a lot) then I use the advance search in another window to search by title/author to see what other versions are out there. This is also helpful if you want to post without an ISBN because you can copy images & text from other versions to fill in some of the book data. You can advertise your shelf in the book bazaar and indicate that you have titles that are WL under different ISBNs. |
