This book includes a great deal of information about the puzzles of science. Line illustrations, glossary, no index. Solutions are printed in the later pages.
Which is easier, pushing a wheelbarrow or pulling it. The answer in the back of the book says pulling it. My only experience with a wheelbarrow was in the summer of 1955, taking Olympia Beer bottles to the 'country' store down the road to redeem for the deposit of once cent each. I am not sure I could have balanced it if I had pulled; most of the weight was in the heavy, worn wood it was made of and the cast iron wheel.
I was eight years old and struck by learning of the death late that summer of another boy, aged 14 (E. Till), who went to a country store near his uncle's home and wound up murdered. The elderly lady at the store I went to was quite kind.
