"Norah Lofts has skillfully woven together the isolated stories of the 3 Wise Men and of Mary and Joseph, giving the traditional story of the coming of the Messiah a color, depth, and dimension never before attained in fiction." - from the book cover.

An amazing book that I have re-read every Christmas for the past 30 years. Norah Lofts has humanized the iconic figures of the characters of the Birth of Christ in this retelling of the Christmas story.

This is one of the best Biblical fiction books I have ever read. It stands with the best. It is so fascinating, well-written, insightful, and faith-building. Oh, my if you like it, read Norah Lofts other excellent fiction. I only wish she had written more books.
