I have Harry Potter book 1 - hardcover - on my wish list. Every time this book is posted in another format I get an email saying a similar book has been posted. I'm getting at least 4-5 emails a day. How do I stop getting emails like this? I just want the hardcover!

I don't see any options under Settings to allow you to do so, and the help text notes:

"we have a feature in place that matches up similar versions of books that are on the Wish List and emails everyone in line for ANY version of the book. The email notifies them that there is a similar book available for order."

Which makes it appear to be an automated function.  I'm fairly new though; perhaps someone else knows a secret?

Cheers,

Catt

Go to My Account, and then Settings.  Scroll down, down, down the page to Email settings.  Put a checkmark in the box(es) next to the kinds of Emails you don't want to get, and then click the "update email settings" button.

The thing about stopping the emails, though, is it will do that for ALL of your WL books.  I have some HP stuff on my WL, too, so I do understand the frustration.  The thing is, there are other books where another version would be perfectly acceptable, but I don't have room on my WL for all versions of all books.  Just food for thought! :-)

I know exactly what you mean. I wanted a book specifically in HC that was posted here two or three times a day in paperback. After many months of emails, I finally got it in HC. I was so excited to get the book, and so excited to stop getting the emails.
