I don't know how the heck I got on the Church of Scientology distribution list.  I think it must be all those religious studies courses I took in college. Anyhow, has anybody else gotten these flyers before? I just love taking a look at them or else I would have sent them a "Please Quit Sending Me These" type of request.

The bad news is that I am in fact, toxic. Somebody needs to call Tom Cruise immediately.

With all the publications that have been sent to my house I would think I'd have gotten a grip on what Scientologist believe but that is not the case. All I know is that all this ibuprofen, mucinex, and other OTC's are making me toxic.

I'm sure these people are nice but ..... I'd rather be toxic than have cramps.

If anybody orders a book from me make sure you get a biohazard suit.

OMG, we have one of those guys in our state legislature, and everytime the topic turns to anything health-related, he goes ON and ON about how we shouldn't be doing screenings for this or that, how there are already cures for cancer, how best practices is a rip-off, etc.

Meanwhile, Mr Religious got busted last summer for beating his wife.

Talk about toxic!!

hahahaha, I almost wish I was on that list so I could get the laughs too!  Almost, not quite!  Poor Jett Travolta....maybe they are hoping the Scientology will wash the toxic autism out of him.  So sad.

Scientology, I'm afraid, sets off my "danger danger danger' alert buttons.

I am super toxic....I take....OMG...wait for it....

an anti depressant for severe hormone swing due to female problems.  I will probably take them until I die.  God Bless Brooke Shields and shame on TC!

I agree with Sharon, I would rather be toxic and function!

Shannon, I'd suggest you stay away from small children in case it rubs off.  LOL

When I worked for the library system, we used to get L. Ron Hubbard's books on the Church of Scientology.   They'd start out with photos of Biblical greats and then the last photo would be Hubbard sitting on a throne.  It creeped me out a bit.

HI ya'll. I have enjoyed reading some of the posts here.  I think people have way too much time on their hands. Otherwise, why would they be so concerned what others do? I have no time to worry about what other pepole do or how they live. I just barely have enough time to take care of myself. It's good to be toxic sometimes. At least, you are surviving. that's what is important. If you hurt, take something that helps the pain. Suffering to me will make it worse. YOu would really be toxic then!! Come and visit my bookshelf. I would be happy to make some kind of offer. I have more books than I know what to do with. Perhaps they are too old. I have not had any requests yet. Any suggestions? If you see anything you want, and tell me the kind of books you like, I can send an unposted one with the request and give you a two for one special. Let me know. I will look at your wish lists, and see if any of you have something on there I have. Take care, Sandra

I watched this creepy YouTube clip of Scientology yesterday.  It's about 24 minutes long, but it's very enlightening.  Basically, they tell you what a horrible person you are and charge you all kinds of money to fix you.  Which is why I guess they have so many rich celebrity clients.  Anway, if you click here http://www.venganza.org/ and scroll about halfway down the page you should see a heading that says something like Scientology is Less of a Religion than FSM.  That's where the video is (if I did this right).

I guess there is new stuff with Tom Cruise on YouTube. I can get it to open but was told about it. There are links on the topic babblegab on CMT. In case you are interested and bored.

Shannon-  Sorry to confuse you.  Those videos don't explain anything about Scientology.  Tom Cruise did a video giving his opinions on what Scientology had done for him for an occasion on which he was awarded a Scientology medal.  The tape leaked to the internet and people saw it.  It makes him look like an inarticulate, lunatic with mood swings.

The links to other videos I put up there are all parodies of TC.  They're very funny but not the least instructional.  But if you google "Scientology" there is a lot of information including videos.

Basically, the Church of Scientology believes people need to rid themselves of false reactions that come to them from engrams from their past lives and infection from the engrams of others.  They use, basically, some pop psychology from the 50s and 60s plus a lie-detector-like devise to locate the engrams and then eliminate one at a time (takes years and many, many costly Scientology "courses").  They also use a vitamin and sauna regimen.  A person who has eliminated them is a clear who is immune to disease and cannot be deceived.

It's worth noting that one of the very few people that L Ron Hubbard ever indentified as a clear didn't pass the elemental test that he had designed to demonstrate that she had achieved complete memory and immunity.

The penultimate level of Scientology discloses the beliefs that South Park nicely illustrated in the episode on Tom Cruise in one of the kid's closet.

Yeah, I used to think he was just sooo cool in Top Gun.  Now he is just plain scarey to me! (Let me get in a plane to get away from that guy)

His very strong opinions about medications have turned me away from him.

Have you seen the video currently circulating?  It's not just his extreme views on appropriately prescribed drugs and his slurs on the whole profession of psychology/psychiatry.  He's showing some signs of mental instability.

Personally, I feel very sad that his kids have to live with that.  And I feel very angry about the young and vulnerable people he's lured into a cult.

I'm all for religious freedom, but Scientology is in no way a religion.  I don't know what they did to Tom Cruise, but they got him good.  It's a shame that his legacy as an actor will be overshadowed by his legacy as the creepy Scientology guy, but that's it in a nutshell.  It's like L. Ron Hubbard took aspects of psychology and used it against people to break them down and form a cult to squeeze money from the wealthy.  It is scary what people are willing to believe, and how easily people can be led to those beliefs.  Very scary.

I just read something the other day about people who are still living around the Waco compound and are angry that the state wants to build a highway through that land, because they believe it is a holy site that will rise again.  Their cult leader was responsible for all those deaths, and they have martyrd him and still worship him, even after his death.  Just creeps me out.

Oh my, that IS creepy. What a whack job David Kerish was!! (I don' think Tom Cruise is that level of whacked at this point thankfully) That is so very disturbing.

I don't understand why people would follow a man that has been heard to say the only way to become rich is to start a religion.

The thing is all those desperate, vulnerable people aren't following L Ron Hubbard and they don't do any research.  They're following Tom Cruise who has nothing to do with what those people will be put through.

They will be required to stop taking medications and many of them need to be on medications.  They will be told that the way to deal with increasing symptoms is to take vitamins and saunas and be audited until they build up debts to Scientology that they can only get past by signing a million year (yes, I really did mean MILLION year) contract.  At that point, they become indentured slaves.  And Tom Cruise, John Travolta, Kirstie Alley and a number of other celebrities who are furnished with these slaves and enlessly preened by Scientology are responsible for it.

I hope they do their own million years in hell for it.
