With all the "offers" that keep popping up, is there a way to get a Forum Topic to stay pegged at the top of the list, similar to the red one "books we are reading this month"?  It would be so nice to have that!  And maybe our "own"  "damaged books" post too...  Just a thought if anyone knows!

I think it's a great idea, but those red topics can get really long.  Do you think it would be workable to start a new one every month maybe and people could list their offers or renew offers that are still available?  That way, too, offers that are no longer available but the poster never takes them off, would pass into oblivion on their own.

Though a red topic is so easy to find and you see it right away.  Hmmm.

Well I was really referring more to a red post similar to the one that says "to people posting deals in this forum" - you know, so that people wouldn't clog it up with alot of deals, but if there was an interest, we could possibly do a weekly or monthly "deal" topic.  IF, that is, anyone was interested.  We have the book bazaar for just deals on books already.

Oh, I missed the point.  I've read that people have had bad luck with crummy books and experiences at the Book Bazaar that matches my run of bad luck lately.  I've never used the Book Bazaar for my bookshelf or to find deals.  I find it very confusing over there and gave up even looking at it.  Am I the only one?  Do you all find good stuff there?

I use the book bazaar all the time. My luck with bad books is no worse than my PBS luck in general.  It's a good place to find romance deals because once they stop being twishlisted, they tend to languish on people's shelves.

That's true but I've had more bad than good experiences there.  I almost wish there was a rating system (like Ebay) that would tell you about someone's experiences.  I'm a boxer and I always check their rating before accepting a BOB.

I just put my dmg books and my deal in my signature and I get good responses from that. But I post a lot on several different boards.  I have posted a couple threads in the BB when I had an unpostable WL book and one that was WL but with a dif ISBN#.  They got snapped up quickly.  The "To Those Posting Deals in This Forum" thread is not a sticky thread. It gets bumped up by someone everytime someone else posts a deal on this board.  I like the idea of a weekly deal/unpostable thread though.  I check out the BB regularly but I've never ordered any books from a deal post there. Mostly because I have too many already and a move coming up.  But I don't see why we couldn't do a "Post your deals/freebies here" thread. Maybe start it new every month so it doesn't become too long to navigate through.   They have a "WL w/dif ISBN", an "I'm looking for..," and an "unpostables" thread they start monthly on BB.   Ooh we could put in that thread maybe "post your deals, freebies or books you are looking for here" thread.

To be honest, I find the "deal" postings a little annoying.  I wish people would put them on book bazaar or just in their signature lines.

I think that's why Sherri is suggesting a weekly thread. Just one so that they aren't clogging up the board and we don't have to keep bumping up the "to those posting deals in this forum thread".

I like the idea of one post encompassing it all.  Deals, freebies, damaged books, I'm looking for, etc.  That way it's all in one thread, started over monthly.  It'd be easy to ignore if you're not interested in it and hopefully would stop people clogging up the board with multiple posts of this kind.

I m game too. Personally I get annoyed over at  books bazzar as it is to congested with  books I am not looking for. If we had a place here to post our deals..when I am looking for a deal I can go straight to that thread as I know its mostly romance deals that will be there.

It sounds like a good plan.
